Camden Taylor Wilson

Camden Taylor Wilson was born August 1, 2013 at 8:56 am. He was 7 pounds 6 ounces and 20 inches long. He is a cute healthy baby and Taylor and I are so grateful to have him in our lives.

Birth Story:

My doctor scheduled an induction a week past my due date, and of course, he didn't come before then. Taylor and I went to the hospital July 29th at 4:00pm for our induction appointment. The nurses hooked me up to IV's and started giving me pitocin. I came in to the hospital dilated to 2 cm. The baby's heart rate kept going up and down so they had to give me oxygen and lower the dose of pitocin. Once his heart rate was normal again, they upped the dose. I was getting contractions that were uncomfortable and a little painful so they gave me some pain medicine. That all happened within 12 hours and I had no progress. I was still 2 cm. The doctor and nurses were thinking of sending me home. Out of no where my contractions got soooo painful and they were a minute apart. I could barely breath through the pain. Within 30 minutes I couldn't take the pain anymore and I asked the nurses to give me the epidural. They checked me and I was still 2 cm. The contractions were unbearable and I suddenly had the urge to push. I asked the nurse again to check me. She did, and his head was right there. She called the doctor to get to our room right away for delivery. There was no time to get the epidural. I knew I had to push the baby out naturally without the epidural and it frightened me. Within a few minutes the doctor came in and I started pushing. After 9 hard pushes, baby Camden Taylor Wilson came. His umbilical cord was wrapped around the top of his head so the doctor had to cut it. I had no tearing and the labor was a success! After they cleaned him off real quick, they let us do skin-to-skin and that was such a sweet moment. Taylor and I are so thrilled to have him join our little family.

Getting Ready for Baby!

We are down to 2.5 weeks left till my due date and we have finally finished getting everything ready. We bought everything we need, I have my hospital bag ready, the nursery is done (just waiting on a painting from Mere), and the car seat is all ready in our new car! We realized it would be really hard to manage next year with one car, especially with Taylor coaching, so it was time to buy our first car together. We ended up getting a Kia Soul and it is perfect for our little family :-)

35 weeks!

37 weeks!!

The 4th of July was a very sad day for the entire Wilson family. Taylor's grandma, Joyce Wilson, passed away at the age of 79. She was suffering from dementia and is in a more peaceful place now. She will always be remembered as a fun, hilarious, kind, soft, and loving woman, and, for those that knew her well, we will always love to remember her ability to worry for all of us :) We will miss you so much, Grandma!

We love and miss you Grandma Wilson

Happy 4th!

Yesterday, the Romneys needed help moving so Taylor and I were happy to help! Between the both of us Taylor did all the moving-- I helped by watching :-) Yesterday was also Hilary's birthday and they were so sweet to invite us for her birthday dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. We are thrilled they are moving close to us!

Three Year Anniversary

On June 4th, Taylor and I celebrated our three year anniversary! I can't believe we have been married for 3 years! We started celebrating early in the morning when Taylor went to our favorite local diner and brought back some yummy breakfast! We wanted to go out to a nice dinner that night, but we had to go to birthing class for three hours :-/ We did however go to a nice dinner a couple nights later at the Cheesecake Factory and saw Fast and Furious 6. Taylor loved the movie-- I may or may not have fallen asleep in the middle. Oops!

That week, we also got to go to Sunset High School's graduation. It was a nice ceremony and Taylor got to see most of his students graduate.

Just recently, our friends from BYU surprised us and visited us for the weekend. Matt had a job offer with a company in Frisco, so they decided to come visit and see what the area is like. We had a lot of fun with them and it looks like they liked the Dallas area so much that they are moving here in August! Can't wait for fun weekends and BYU games together!

We stopped by Allen's high school football stadium (ridiculous!)

Missouri Surprise!

What a fun weekend! Over Memorial Day, all the Wilson siblings gathered in Kansas City to surprise Keri for her birthday! Gregory organized the event a few months back and we all managed to keep it a secret until our arrival. We came from Dallas, Kristopher and Katie from Shelly, Idaho, and Samantha from Provo, so it was no easy task, but it was so worth it.

We officially celebrated Keri's birthday with the Hopkins and got some shooting practice in out on the deck. Taylor was pretty good (he even beat Kristopher, who went through basic training!) and we had some delicious cake and ice cream. Plus, we got a chance to see Grandma and Grandpa Dayton and the Hopkins, which was a pleasant surprise.

Maybe the best part of the weekend, for everyone, was seeing little Kendrick. We hadn't seen our nephew in over a year and he has changed so much! He has hilarious little smirks and facial expressions and always wants to use our iPhones. This first picture was Kendrick eying Taylor's iPhone from afar.

As always, the weekend went a little bit too fast. It was a rainy afternoon when we left after eating a delicious Memorial Day breakfast as a family. We can't wait to see everyone again, hopefully at Christmas. And to think, by the time we see Kendrick again he will have a 6-month old cousin!! :)

A quick update on the pregnancy and our everyday lives: I have 8 weeks left and am still going strong. Everything is going very well, I am healthy, and baby is healthy. But we certainly aren't looking forward to the Texas summer. I'm already starting to swell up a little too much!

Taylor just finished up spring football with Sunset and they had their Spring Game Friday night. They played themselves, so they finally won! He also just committed to teach summer school and got called as the Young Men's President in our newly-minted Kessler Park Ward!

April Update

Sorry it has been such a long time since we have posted! A lot has happened this past month. First of all we, moved into a new unit in our complex because it is newly renovated and has washer and dryer hookups, which will be very awesome when this little guy comes. I also had a fun doctor's appointment at 28 weeks. I had the glucose test, I got the Rogam shot because I am Rh negative blood type, and I got another sonogram. Our little guy had fluid on his kidneys when we had our anatomy scan at 20 weeks, and when we got this sonogram at 28 weeks, the fluid was gone! He is healthy and getting really big!

A weekend in April, Taylor's parents came to visit. As always, we had quite an enjoyable time! We hit Gregory's favorite burger place in Arlington, went to a Rangers game, and had an overall fun weekend. The next time we see either set of our parents, we will have a baby! It's just crazy to think about!

The Sunset track season ended in April, and even though I'm happy to because I get to see Taylor a bit more (although not a lot more since spring football just started) Taylor was a little bit sad to see it end. The girls finished on a high note, especially the JV group, which took second at district, the highest placing for a JV or Varsity Sunset track team ever in this district.

Yesterday, Taylor and I journeyed to Babies R Us to stock up on baby stuff. I had a lot of fun picking stuff out, but Taylor basically got an ulcer. Taylor got so worked up with spending money on all the baby stuff, that I had to take him to see Iron Man 3 to calm him down.

Today was my first ever Mother's Day as an (almost) mother. I figured it's okay to celebrate since I am almost 2 months away! Taylor was so sweet when he bought me some beautiful roses and doughnuts from my favorite doughnut shop :-)

Also for Mother's Day today, my dearest friend Karissa from Pittsburgh surprised me for a visit. Her and her husband were driving to Louisiana from Utah for a summer job and stopped by to visit us! We had a lot of fun with them and I can't believe how far we have both come since high school.

Easter, Baby Shower, and More

What a fun couple of weeks its been! We have been as busy as ever, between Taylor and his track season, getting ready to move to a new apartment, and this baby, there just aren't too many free minutes to just sit back and relax. Easter weekend was especially busy and fun because we had a baby shower and my Mom, Dad, and sister Emma all came to visit for the first time.

My friends Casey, Melissa, and Lindsey all helped throw me an amazing baby shower the Saturday before Easter. There were great decorations and fantastic food. Lindsey made and decorated a delicious cake. I couldn't believe how awesome it looked (and tasted!). I loved all the games we played and really appreciated all the gifts. Our baby is going to be dressing nice for quite awhile!

My family came in on Friday afternoon. It was fun having them visit us for the first time and we showed them a great Oak Cliff experience. We got some great Mexican food at Glorias and our favorite taco stand, and even gave them a taste of the Texas heat when our AC wasn't working on Saturday and Sunday while it was 85 outside. I loved having my mom at the baby shower and we are extremely grateful for the stroller and car seat they helped us out with. They were only here for a couple days and we already miss having them around. We can't wait to see them again when the little guy finally arrives!

Babies!

Last week, our friends just had a baby girl named Madeline :-) We are so excited for them and loved visiting them and their new baby in the hospital. It made Taylor and I so much more excited for our little boy coming in July. Visiting the hospital and knowing that we will be there in less than 20 weeks made it so much more real. Taylor may be a little bit more nervous than I am but he's coming around.

I just can't get enough of young Madeline!

On Friday my co-workers were so kind and surprised me by throwing a baby shower for me! They did such a good job with keeping it from me and the decorations were so cute. They were all so sweet and all pitched in and got me a pack-and-play!

Today, Taylor and I went to visit my cousins, Emily and Russ, in Keller. They made us a delicious brunch and bought us a very soft blanket for baby Wilson. Emily was so kind in giving me some baby boy clothes, bibs, table chair, swaddler, and is letting us borrow their swing!
