Goodbye Utah

Well, we have officially moved out of Utah! We left on Sunday morning around 4:45 am and set out on a 17-hour journey across country to Kansas City. For the next few weeks we will hang out with Taylor's family, attend two weddings, and then will head for Dallas to start looking for a place to live!

Last Saturday we packed up our U-Box with everything we own and then jammed our car full of the clothes and other accessories we will need before we get to Texas. We had tons of help from our friends Brett and Haley and their baby Madeline, along with my sister Lauren. We also ate at the Art City Trolly, a restaurant a mile from our house, for the first time. It was delicious. Taylor is extremely distraught that we did not try it a few years ago.

We had one final family dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Jacobson before we left. There was pizza and chocolate cake, and it made us remember how thankful we are to have lived with them for 2 years and how much we will miss them now that we're gone. I doubt we will ever have better landlords!

Just before we left we also got a great bit of news. Although Taylor was already accepted to Teach for America and we knew he would be teaching in Dallas, we didn't know exactly where. Well, he had his first official interview last Tuesday and spoke with the Principal and two assistant principals over the phone  and, long story short, he got hired to teach Astronomy at Sunset High School!! It is located just SW of Dallas and we are so excited to immerse ourselves in the community. Go Bison!
